Aracne

In this work, the artist confronts us with a duplicity: on the one hand, a proud Arachne, wrapped in a finely worked cloak that brings to mind the art of weaving in which she excelled; on the other, an Arachne transformed into an insect, the result of the terrible divine punishment, yet completely gilded like a precious element, almost a jewel.
Carlo Zoli captures the tragic essence of the event, portraying not an emblem of Greek mythology but a modern woman, strong and independent, unafraid to challenge convention and fight for what she believes in. She could be a successful entrepreneur who created her company with hard work and determination, an example of passion and talent, beyond the conventions and limitations of contemporary society.
